Veteran Bollywood Director Yash Chopra has woven a beautiful love story in Dil To Pagal Hai.
Raj (Shahrukh Khan) is a dance group leader looking for a new dancer for his upcoming production Maya. To make things worse for Raj, his usual main dancer Nisha (Karisma Kapoor) breaks her leg during a training session.
The lovely Pooja (Madhuri Dixit) is a dancer, but as a hobbyist. Pooja is a firm believer in love and that God has preordained a partner for every individual and all that remains is to find the partner.
In contrast, Raj is cynical about the very idea of love.
As he’s searching for a new dancer, Raj stumbles upon Pooja at a neighboring dance school. He prevails upon her to help him out.
Before you can say Mama Mia, the two fall in love with each other but Pooja has committed to marrying her cousin and friend Ajay (Akshay Kumar). To make a difficult situation worse, Ajay returns from abroad unexpectedly before Pooja can inform him of the new man in her life and their marriage is fixed.
Like with most Bollywood blockbusters, fine music contributed to Dil To Pagal Hai’s success. The songs are a delight. Our favorites were Are Re Are, Koi Ladki Hai, Dil To Pagal Hai and Le Gayi Le Gayi.
Another treat in Dil To Pagal Hai is the absence of any fights or those infantile action scenes common in most Bollywood films
